What are digital wireless speakers?
Digital wireless speakers have been one of the most wanted pieces of modern technology over the past years. They have been part of any techie's life for some time now. They provide convenience and comfort to people's lives with their easy-to-use designs and great performances.
Let us begin with why digital wireless speakers are called wireless. There are still wires present in a digital wireless speaker. However, compared to the traditional speaker system, they contain lesser wires. You just need to place the speaker close to a power outlet so that you can easily plug it in and turn it on. The term wireless means that the speaker does not need to be connected to a radio or a component system for it to work. That is when the term digital comes in.
How does a digital wireless speaker work?
A digital wireless speaker works like this: It has a speaker driver that processes the sound produced by any audio source. This driver operates at either 1 or 0. 1 indicates that the driver is functioning at full amplitude while 0 indicates that the driver is turned off. This process causes the speaker to generate very efficient results in terms of the quality of sound produced.
Most digital wireless speakers that we see in the market today are not really “digital” in nature. They are analog speakers. The word "digital" refers to the kind of audio they are able to play. Music and mp3s that can be downloaded from the web are the things that the word "digital" refer to. The explanation for this is that any product that has the word "digital" in it sells much better. That is why many companies use this marketing ploy.
Why choose digital wireless speakers?
There may be times when you want to do something outdoors such as go on a picnic or have a barbecue party outside the house. You will need music to keep the energy going. Several years ago, people resort to dragging their huge component systems, together with their similarly huge speakers, to the porch or near the pool. This activity will require much effort from you and from other people as well because pushing and pulling that big thing is not a joke. Good thing there are digital wireless speakers to make our lives less tiring and more convenient.
With digital wireless speakers, you do not have to worry about tripping over entangled wires on your way outside or to the bathroom. You do not have to exert force to push and drag your bulky radio to the heart of the party. You can just leave your component system or radio inside the house and still have great music heard by everyone from the outsi de. Digital wireless speakers make that possible. You can place them anywhere.
The list of comforts that these digital wireless speakers can offer is long. You can also use them with your Ipods or mp3 players. They come in different styles, shapes, colors and sizes. They are definitely going to give you your money’s worth.

Very Easy setup

I have been looking that this for a while and actually got a hands on demo at CES. I did not buy from Amazon as Circuit City had piles of them at a much better price :¬). I like the product, very easy setup, great sound. The fastest way to a house full of music. All products like this work much better if you create a few playlists as you will have limited ability to browse music from the remote speaker.
I have several different generation iPods and it generally worked, but did not charge my old iPod Mini (not surprised) and would not show artist and song info from the really old iPods (also not surprised). |

| After an extensive search, and one failed attempt to purchase JBL wireless speakers that still had a wire between them, I finally found what I was looking for in the Sony system. My iPod hooks right up to the base, and I have two speakers in different rooms that put out fantastic sound. Seriously, the sound is good and the volume is what I was hoping for. With the base and two speakers I have three remotes, which is excessive, except for when I lose one and need a replacement. I use the iPod feature only, so I can't comment on AM/FM radio quality. The only complaint I have is the glossy base unit shows fingerprints and looks a little dirty over time. I could clean it, but I am lazy. FYI, I use the system with my old 30gb iPod (before video), and have also tested with my newer iPod Nano with video. Both work great, though it is a little tough to swap out the different iPod adapters. Overall, I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for tru wireless speaker system for an iPod. |

Simply Amazing

| This speaker system should be considered elite. The speakers just came in today and I was amazed at how simple of a setup it actually was. I thought that it would be an hour project but I would say it only took 5 to 10 minutes to have tunes from my iPod blasting out of the speakers. These speakers have it all, radio, iPod usage, and the ability to be connected to anything through sound cables, especially a television or gaming console. With this in mind everyone should greatly consider this sound system as it can be set up through many rooms or used simply to just play music in one room. This product has many capabilities that can be used for every occasion. |
It worked fine out of the box.
